High at the crest of "The Ancha" (in-discerned gringo and/or local colloquialism for street "Ancha de San Antonio") lies a hidden door that opens up each Saturday to an Organic Market.

There seems a large drive now-days for all things organic in this city. It sounds great but I can't help musing, wonder what I've been buying at the main city market all these years.

Things always look fresh, but are they? At least here they do look fresher than normal while taking a taste of most any of this stuff has you thinking if it's not really organic, with flavor like this, who really cares.

Squash blossoms are all the rage now at both markets and the gourmet restaurants of Mexico. Maybe it's everywhere and I, General Taco Stand, am as always (where fashion and trending come to play) reside comfortably at the back of the line.

As of now, I'll call them interesting but requiring more research. However my culinary sibling, Suzanne is quite the contrary and picks us up a bag for a future meal.

These look good enough to eat ... oh, wait ...

Does this belong in a frame on the wall or our dinner table. Tough question!

Kidding aside, I have talked to some local growers here and there are rules for farming and having your product labeled "Organic".

Not like any Mexican cheese I had tasted in the past, this stuff packs both flavor and aroma!

And a full line of cactus products. Most of the guys weren't as interested in the cactus, I'll have to admit.
