While the other passengers indulge, knowing our stomachs are still not acclimated, we opt to eat snacks from home rather than the full breakfast everyone else is enjoying during our 30 min stop here.

The morning air here is divine. You know you are not in Kansas any more when you step off here and feel the sun peppering your skin and the thinner fresh mountain air filling your lungs. You are now in Mexico!

This lady from Longview didn't know a word of Spanish and hung by our side. All she knew that her boyfriend told her to meet him at this lonely 6 building town in the middle of no where somewhere in Central Mexico. And they call us the brave ones!

We both marveled at how this experience might be, stopping where we would never dream of spending time to meet a loved one you had not seen since they left Texas. Stranger things ....

My seat partner complains of the leg room that I require and relocates to a better seat on the bus once the passengers start trickling off at the various small towns we make quick stops along the way.

We continue to climb into the mountains of Guanajuato state.

And if you think this is bad, you should see all our bags under the bus. Over 100lbs per person we lugged on this trip, including liquor, meats, monitors, computer equipment.

Dead tired, we arrive at our hosts house to find they have planned a surprise dinner party for us!
