It's an hour bus ride up the mountain from Morellia to Patzcuaro. The city, most famous for it's yearly "Day of the Dead" festival, serves as a quaint tourist destination on other days with a climate and "attitude" similar to San Migu

Suzanne is so in heaven as we discover a new (for me) type of bus, the double decker. She somehow lucks out to get a front seat with the best view onboard. Good on ya' Sis!

Sis is grinning from ear to ear. I am ill but I have felt worse so I am struggling along. While she was exploring I saw a doctor in Morellia (for around $17 US!) who gave me medicines to help with my diarrhea.

Down the street at the Hotel Parroquia and perhaps as a courtesy we were placed in a corner room. Unfortunately it had less ventilation and my condition was approaching dehydration.

After an overnight in the small local hospital (click to read) I slowly recovered, enough to take these photos the next day. A miracle indeed!

What a peaceful and lovely little city!

With large capital city Morellia only one hour away, who could ask for anything more! (Unless you are planning to spend the night in the hospital, of course!)
