Weekend stopover - Morelia

The intriguing tales of enchanted Potzcuaro beckoned after research on some of Mexico's best hide-aways. Luckily this required an overnight in the also long calling Morelia, Michoacan. This city turned out to be much more than I expected, a magical city wrapped tightly in modern malls and suburbia yet still preserved and protected from modern mediocrity.

It's certainly hard to associate the many US media stories of drug-lord strife in this area. In fact in none of the cities we toured did we see any instance of or detect tension regarding anticipation of any trouble.
