This quaint mainly shrimping village about an hour south of Veracruz provides me the exact view of authentic Mexico that I have been searching for.
Fish processing companies on the water front (strange but no smell).
About 3 buildings dedicated to distributing seafood.
Continue down the short boardwalk.
Looking across the river that faces the boardwalk, the "other part" of Alvarado.
Bridge spans river just as it pours into Gulf, and connects the two Alvarados.
At the end of the boardwalk is another coctailaria with a group of people drinking Negra Modelos. Looks like fun so I mingle around and watch.
Definitely the odd man out here, they wonder what is is I want. I am not sure myself.
