Back to Cisco's in San Cristobal de las Casas, Chiapas

The 10 hour bus ride from Veracruz puts me back in the lovely southern Mexico city of San Cristobal de las Casas at dear friend Cisco Diet's home. It has been a year since I last said goodbye but I quickly re-acclimate, feeling really good and comfortable about being back. At over 7000' high, the proximity to the equator doesn't affect the 40-72 degree daily temperatures.

On a new route home I encounter a Modeleria around the corner from Ciscos. Corona, who makes Negro Modelo let the Oxxo conglomerate run them nearly out of Mexico. These sparsely located stores are the only place to buy Corona, Leon, Victoria, Montenejo

The flower delivery man is seen all over town, here as well as once a week at Cisco's front door.

It's 1.2Km walk I am braving to Orquideas Moxviquil, Cisco's pet project for the state of Chiapas, their first and one of few botanical garden's in the country.

From the botanical garden, Cisco says see you later I am headed to the superstore Chadraui. My reply was "not without me" :-)

First Cisco talks with store manager about a missing product then he talks to the Peditree cat food rep.

The same flower man I encountered on the other side of town has made it back to Cisco's. He speaks limited Spanish as his native tongue is a Maya indigenous language.

Later Cisco says this is why San Cristobal is an excellent place to learn Spanish as everyone speaks slow for the indigenous population.

A character I earlier said you would be seeing. He performs on weekends at the local playhouse; the plan Tonina at war with Palanque.
