Holbox island, Quintanna Roo, Yucatan Peninsula, Mexico

Isla Holbox is a little known island off the northern coast of the Yucatan Peninsula in Mexico. Reminding me a bit of Utila, Honduras, golf carts are the main transportation but the beautiful beach is the main attraction. The city is smaller than Celestun, beach slightly more attractive but the tourists are numerous.

Restaurant, the only one open for breakfast on Zocalo. More pricey than the one last night. Lunches with seafood run 8-12 US. Date: 03/03/2010 Views: 2254	From the city dock we find that the water is about the same as Celestun. There is a lot more wind than normal, claims the locals which is the cause of the lack of blue. Date: 03/04/2010 Views: 1833	Locals claim that when the weather is calm, the water is a similar hue to Cancun. I think it would be possible but wish I had a time table and history.
